Community identification and assessment

The Powerbase approach centers around a place-based model, engaging low- and middle-income households within a 10 mile radius to receive home retrofits and electrification services at low or no cost to the homeowner.

Community

  • Identification

Powerbase focuses on a place-based model, serving communities of 25 households or more within a 10-mile radius. Our community identification service provides you with a comprehensive report of 3-5 specific community candidates (geographic areas) based on agreed upon criteria, including income requirements, demographics, geographic restrictions, utility mapping or likely energy burden, and more. Our report identifies and helps you prioritize communities most likely to be eligible for and benefit from your program.

  • engagement and enrollment

Our community engagement model starts with outreach to local civic leaders to establish buy-in for the program. We then recruit one or more Local Project Managers from within the community to support engagement, education, and outreach efforts to local households. Our program managers work with you to define requirements for household enrollment, and drive enrollment through in-person educational events, distribution of program materials, and other outreach strategies tailored to the specific circumstances of the local community.

  • Comprehensive Home Energy Assessments

We believe that every successful program starts with establishing an understanding of the specific needs of each home. We offer Comprehensive Home Energy Assessments to identify opportunities for upgrading to more efficient and sustainable systems, including HVAC heat pumps, electric water heaters, weatherization, and energy-saving appliances. Our comprehensive reports include assessments of the home’s current conditions and systems, in addition to laying out recommendations and next steps.

  • Homeowner surveys & program reporting

Powerbase remains in contact with homeowners for up to 1 year post-installation to collect ongoing data and feedback on the safe and effective functioning of upgrades, energy savings, and maintenance issues.
