Our place-based approach identifies communities of 25+ households in a 10-mile radius who will benefit from home retrofits. Powerbase provides homeowner education, program enrollment, and Comprehensive Home Energy Assessments for participating residents.

Our superpower is engaging local, prevailing wage contractors, providing back-office support and small business training, and coordinating high-quality upgrades in our enrolled communities. We focus on minority-owned, veteran-owned, rural or women-owned contracting businesses - expanding their opportunities to scale up their capacity - and keep more electrification investment in the communities they are serving.

Through our public and private partnerships, we help homeowners and contractors navigate the complex web of available rebates and incentives. For contractors, we provide a bridge to financing solutions that help them pre-pay for supplies and materials, complete our installations, and pay their people on time.
What Is Powerbase?
At Powerbase Energy (PBE), our mission is to streamline residential electrification for low- and moderate-income (LMI) households across the U.S. with a focus on installation and implementation. Together, we will reduce energy burdens and ensure equitable access to energy-efficient homes through cutting-edge technology, innovative financing solutions and robust community partnerships.
We are also committed to expanding access to job opportunities to the same communities - providing community reinvestment, workforce development and wealth-building opportunities for small businesses. Neighborhood plumbers, electricians, HVAC operators and carpenters should have the same ability to compete for jobs as the big GCs. PBE makes it possible.
By leveraging the unprecedented investment opportunities of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and other federal and local incentives, we make home electrification accessible to the millions of low and moderate income Americans currently overburdened by energy bills. Our goal is simple: to make home electrification accessible, affordable, and seamless for millions of families while supporting the transition to a more sustainable future.
Through our one-stop-shop model, we coordinate contractors and empower homeowners to transform their homes into energy-efficient powerhouses, saving on energy costs and improving comfort and safety.
